Resident Roz talks about life at Monterey

On behalf of my fellow residents,  it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our vibrant community at Monterey.

When some of us began our journey to settle in Monterey, the only things we could see initially, were the Allam’s temporary office, and the one lonely tree where the homestead used to be.

As the village is expanding,  residents are bringing with them a diverse range of career skills and life experiences.

They contribute their knowledge and skills by helping each other out when they can,  which is creating a community where we feel connected and valued.

We all have a story of the joys we have experienced, and the hardships we have known. When we are out and about,  we often  meet our fellow residents and discover their stories which are very captivating.  Often these stories are combined with intrigue and jolly good laughter.

The Monterey Social Committee and residents,  facilitate functions and events throughout the year,  and some of those include the Annual Christmas Party : Market Day : Fashion Show : Hawaiian Night : Wine & Spirits Tasting.

At Monterey, we have the freedom to choose what we do----and when we do it.  Here,  we can join in activities such as Art & Craft :   Exercises :   Card Games :   Woodburning :   Line Dancing :   Lawn Bowls :   Trivia :    Bits & Bytes IT skills, and so much more.

We have many different groups and clubs that have been created by the residents, such as the Sports & Recreation Club  which supports all events,  and raises funds for projects that assist resident’s engagement in activities.

Here,  you will find a welcoming atmosphere,  and many opportunities to connect with new friends.
